The 5th Avenue GT is a top quality touring bike with 700c wheels and drop handlebars. Made of multi butted Dedacciai steel tubes and stainless steel it is the bike for long rides on tarmac.
It has the option of derailleur gears or hub gears using either their own Cinq5 shifters for the Rohloff hub. You can also have the Gates Carbon Drive, a system that is quiet, clean and extremely long lasting.
You can now have a drop bar 700c wheel touring bike with all benefits of a steel frame with integrated rack, disc brakes and reliable all weather shifting.
The Fifth Avenue GT is available with a Rohloff gear hub or with derailleur gears and equipped with an eccentric bottom bracket, enabling the chain tension to be adjusted without using a tensioner. With Tout Terrains universal 3-in-1 dropout, the same frame is used for all gear systems and can be split at the rear dropout to enable a belt drive to be used.
The frame is powder coated in Tout Terrain's own facility to maximise corrosion resistance. The frame is then clear coated to protect the finish and seal in the decals. Finally the inside of the tubes receive a preservation treatment to provide maximum protection against corrosion. Available in four very civilised colours or you can choose from any of Tout Terrains stock colours for extra charge. You can also specify an RAL colour of your choice.
All Tout Terrain frames are designed for disc brakes only. Disc brakes keep working even if your rims are damaged in a crash. There's plenty of clearance for big tyres and mudguards. Two different pannier height positions are available, a standard one and extra-low position. Using the lower position results in a lower centre of gravity, as well as in a more favourable load distribution over the rear wheel. All Tout Terrain bikes are fitted as standard with a handlebar stop which prevents the handlebars from turning more than 90°, for example in the event of a fall or if the bicycle falls over, this avoids dents and scratches in the top tube. A simple and effective idea which is typical of the attention to detail on these bikes.
