The very first Scorpion trike but also the latest. For 2017 HP have completely updated their classic model with an entirely new frame, bringing the benefits of the 26" rear wheel and stiffer rear triangle to the original Scorpion.
The result is a trike that fits perfectly and handles precisely and reliably. The oversized aluminium frame gives all the stiffness for a responsive and efficient performance and the cross member is bent up and forward, giving easy access to the seat and to avoid heel interference.
The Scorpion is the lowest and simplest of the range, with rear suspension only and no folding hinge, It has the lowest seat height at 28cm and is also the lightest in the range, making it the trike to choose for a fast and sporty ride. The suspension system works independently of your pedaling force, the same system that has been perfected over thousands of miles on HP's range of two wheelers. What it means is; if you accelerate uphill, you accelerate rather than compressing the suspension. All the regular HP Velotechnik trike options are available. There are four different seat options to give a range of seat heights, a rear rack rated up to 25 kilos, mudguards, and all the usual transmission and gearing systems.
For people who want an electrically powered tailwind there is the option of power assistance using either the Go SwissDrive 250w system or the Shimano Steps fully automatic 8 speed system, using an Alfine Di2 8 speed hub. HP Velotechnik's excellent Streamer front fairing will make your trike comfortable to use throughout the winter.
